Stephanie’s Feathered Family Exotic Bird Rescue

We are a bird rescue operating in Oregon and Washington. Business hours: 8 am to 9 pm, Monday through Saturday. Sunday by appointment only.

Our Mission

Stephanie’s Feathered Family Exotic Bird Rescue is a not-for-profit exotic bird rescue. We take in all exotic birds from finches to macaws including other indoor exotic birds as well and find them knowledgeable, permanent homes. Every bird receives everything from this list below if they do not come to us with it. What we supply to each bird goes with the bird to his new home.

  • roomy cage
  • perches
  • toys
  • bowls
  • fresh fruit and veggies
  • top quality seed/pellet mix daily
  • individual attention and training
  • daily playtime outside of cage (except finches which get a nice big flight to play in while waiting for their new homes if they have to wait)
  • vet care if deemed necessary

It is our goal to make sure that every bird that comes to us gets a permanent home with a parent that is willing to learn, give regular vet care to the bird, daily play time away from the cage, supply proper food and fresh foods, supply toys, put the bird into their living will and in general practice good bird husbandry.

We will fly if you cover costs of transportation and over night housing. We truly wish that being a rescue wasn’t so necessary and so we offer this service in hopes that you will keep your bird.

We will train you in the following areas; how to work better with your bird,  what constitutes a balanced diet, sleep requirements, toy requirements, cage size needs, bathing needs, humidity requirements, respect, the necessity of play time away from the cage, how to handle and prevent aggression problems, how to handle screaming problems, cage branch and toy rotation, how to earn your parrots love and respect and keep it.

Remember, these children are as intelligent as 3 to 5 year old human children, they need boundaries, consistency and play time. On average each session is about 2 hours for the human and 20 minutes for the bird.
